Shoes have become a symbol for many products today. As consumers we spend a lot of time and effort on dreaming about and purchasing different objects but we spend less time contemplating on what happends to our objects after we throw them out. The traditional way of making a shoe in leather by a craftsman was a process that posed no real threat to our nature. But during the industrialization the process of making a shoe has become more and more complex and energy consuming. Together with the shoe company Kavat I have developed a more sustainable shoe, that can be produced locally with a more responsibility to our nature and higher transparency in the manufacturing process.
Skorna har blivit en symbol för många produkter idag. Som konsumenter lägger vi ned mycket tid och energi på att drömma om och skaffa oss olika föremål men ägnar mindre eftertanke åt hur de tillverkas och vad som händer med objektet efter att de slängs.
Den traditionella skon som tillverkades i läder utav en skomakare var ett objekt som tillverkades utan något större hot för miljön. Men i takt med industrialismens utveckling har skor rört sig mot att bli allt mer komplicerade och energikrävande produkter att tillverka. I mitt arbete vill jag lyfta diskussionen kring hållbarhetsfrågor inom skoindustrin. Tillsammans med företaget Kavat har jag utvecklat ett mer hållbart designförslag på en sko, som kan tillverkas lokalt med mer ansvar och en högre transparens i tillverkningsprocessen.
